Top Calais Shops

Auchan

Directions: From the Motorway/Autoroute: Take exit 14 from the A16 Autoroute (Calais to Boulogne Link) and follow signs for Coquelles.

Description Auchan, (formerly Mammouth) is the original Calais Hypermarket. With a great range on offer, the wide aisles will tempt you with regular special offers. Like most French Hypermarkets, there is also a range of specialist shops located at the entrance to the centre.

Wine & Beer World

Directions: From the Port take the A26 autoroute, leaving at junction 3. Follow signs to ZA Marcel Dorest and head over the roundabout.

Description: Includes a large tasting area (wine is available free to taste all day!) a large covered car park, all the staff are bilingual and can answer any wine questions you may have. All prices are displayed in sterling and you can buy in sterling or euros.

Sainsburys

Directions :From the Port or Eurotunnel Terminal take the A16 towards Boulogne and exit at junction (Sortie) 14 or 12, then follow the signs to Auchan.

Located in the Auchan shopping centre the Sainsbury's store has a vast array of wines, beers and spirits, with most of the familiar UK brands available. You can add points to your Sainsbury's Reward Card when you shop.

Cite Europe

Directions: From A16 turn off at Junction 12 or Junction 14. Follow the signs to Cité Europe.

Description: The main mall at the entrance to the Channel Tunnel is a shopper's paradise. Containing international chains, food courts and as well as a hypermarket, there is something for everyone. Cité Europe is your best bet for clothing, with shops selling everything from baby clothes to chic French designer outfits.

Boozers

Directions: From the Port: take the A26 autoroute, then the A16, leaving at junction 17. From the Eurotunnel terminal: take the A16 towards Paris and get off at junction 17, Boozers is on your right.

Description: Boozers is a well stocked with duty free drink bargains galore. Boozers also has a thatched restaurant serving food cooked over an open fire!
 

Carrefour

Directions: Take the Boulevard Jacquard until you get to the traffic lights at the Municipal Theatre. Take a right onto the Boulevard Gambetta. Turn left on the roundabout following signs for the A16 autoroute. Take the autoroute in the Boulogne direction, leaving at Junction 12 following the Cité Europe signs.

Description: Located in the Cité Europe shopping mall, Carrefour is the latest addition the Calais shopping scene. The store carries a larger range of goods than it's competitors as well as having easier access. Apart from the usual supermarket section there is a massive selection of household goods ranging from computers to car accessories. Carrefour has an enormous wine section, and as you would expect it is mainly concentrated on French wine.

Eastenders

Directions: From the Port: take the A26 autoroute towards Paris leave at junction 3. Follow signs to ZA Marcel Dorest, take a left at the first roundabout and a right at the second. From the Eurotunnel terminal: take the A26 towards Calais, exit at junction 18.

Open 24/7! and probably the most famous of the Calais drinks warehouses, Eastenders is a 'no frills' kind of place, where price is more important than presentation. It's not everyone's cup of Chardonnay. All the staff speak English and all of their products are priced in sterling so you know exactly how much you're spending! Cigarettes and tobacco are not sold at any of the Eastenders stores in Calais, but there is a large Eastenders tobacco warehouse 35 minutes' drive away on the Belgium border.
